A globally recognised engineering and sustainability consultancy required specialist ESG advisory support for client-facing sustainability work across the Asia-Pacific region. The engagement spans sustainability framework development, ESG strategy, and impact communications — covering the full spectrum of environmental, social, and governance dimensions.

WHAT WE DID

Ongoing retained ESG advisory and delivery support — including sustainability strategy development, ESG framework design, materiality assessment input, and client sustainability communications. Work spans multiple project types and client contexts across the built environment and architecture sectors in Asia Pacific.

NATURE OF ENGAGEMENT

Retained associate relationship. We.do Advice provides specialist ESG expertise as an extension of the consultancy's sustainability team, activated on a project basis.

ESG Readiness for Agrifood Investment — Sarawak (In progress)

CONTEXT

A Singapore-based impact investor preparing its agrifood portfolio company for DFI and sustainability-linked capital against a backdrop of mandatory TCFD disclosure for SGX-listed agrifood companies, the EU Deforestation Regulation in full force, Indonesia's updated Sustainable Finance Taxonomy covering agriculture and forestry, and Singapore's carbon tax rising to S$45 per tonne in 2026.

WHAT WE DID

Designed a Phase 1 ESG Readiness Assessment across six workstreams: ESG baseline audit, double materiality assessment, stakeholder mapping (including indigenous community groups in Sarawak), regulatory gap analysis against EUDR / TCFD / TKBI, DFI and green finance opportunity scan (IFC, ADB, FMO, BII, Proparco), and an investor-ready sustainability narrative for use in DFI applications and capital conversations.

Sustainability Capacity Building — Singapore Polytechnic

A leading Singapore polytechnic seeking to build sustainability literacy - equipping Singapore based c-suite professionals to embed ESG principles across operations, sales, supply chain and institutional reporting.

WHAT WE DID

Designed and delivered a tailored sustainability training and capacity building programme: structured workshop modules on ESG frameworks (GRI, TCFD, SDGs), materiality concepts and sustainability reporting principles, interactive facilitation, and practical application exercises grounded in the participating companies’ operational context.

OUTCOME

Participants equipped with a working command of ESG frameworks and reporting requirements, with practical tools to apply sustainability principles across their roles and disciplines.

Multilateral Sustainability Engagement ASEF & UNGCNS

CONTEXT

Two complementary multilateral engagements — one focused on the Asia-Europe sustainability dialogue, one supporting Singapore-based businesses in meeting their UN Global Compact commitments and ESG reporting obligations.

ASEF

Designed panel debates and facilitated sustainability workshops within the Asia-Europe Foundation's dialogue programmes — bringing structured ESG frameworks and facilitation expertise to multi-stakeholder, cross-cultural convenings across Asia and Europe.

UNGCNS

Supported UN Global Compact Network Singapore members with ESG strategy development, framework alignment, training, and sustainability impact communication — calibrated to the UN Global Compact's Ten Principles and Communication on Progress requirements.

OUTCOME

Multi-stakeholder engagement delivered at regional scale, with participants equipped to embed sustainability principles and meet their reporting commitments within the UN Global Compact framework.
